Presented by the Rockland Road Runners, proceeds from this women-only race benefit the Center for Safety and Change (formerly the Rockland Family Shelter). "Although our company is located in Northvale, New Jersey - Rockland County is a very close neighbor, and many of our employees make their homes there. We wanted to show our support for their community in general, and for the Center for Safety and Change in particular," explains Taryn Goodman, Vice President of Finance for Industrial Rivet.

Calling themselves "The Rivet Ladies," the team was made up of a mix of walkers and runners who joined more than 500 other women on the 3.1 mile loop around Rockland Lake State Park. According to Angela Grace, Administrative Assistant in Quality Control, "The weather was perfect for the race, and the crowd that gathered was very encouraging and supportive." Ms. Goodman adds, "It's always fun to spend time together outside of the office, but teaming up to be a part of something like this - in support of a great cause - makes it even better. We'll definitely plan on doing it again next year." In addition to Ms. Goodman and Ms. Grace, other Rivet Ladies included: Michele Zaret, Lisa Sherman, Jenna Sherman, and Jennifer England.
