Available in three versions—for blind rivets, rivet nuts, and lockbolts (collarbolts)—FreeSet® allows manufacturers to use a single intelligent platform across multiple fastening applications.
Intelligent Process Control
FreeSet® uses an integrated load cell and stroke sensor to monitor installation force and stroke on every set. By tracking these values in real time, the system detects variations in clamp load caused by operator error, material quality, hole size, or incorrect setup. This force-controlled approach helps ensure consistent joint integrity and reduces the risk of defective assemblies. Operators receive clear OK/Not OK results on an OLED display, and this status can be shared with external systems for automated quality control.
Connectivity, Data, and Traceability
The system supports local storage of installation data and optional 2.4/5.0 GHz Wi-Fi. This enables transfer of force and stroke data for documentation and analysis, integration with PLCs and controllers to manage fixtures or stop a line when needed, and flexible access to data via USB or wireless connections. These capabilities provide full traceability and align fastening operations with modern Industry 4.0 requirements.
Streamlined Setup and Centralized Management
An optional barcode reader simplifies configuration by allowing rapid loading of predefined parameter sets, automatic job changeovers, and serial number or lot matching for each installation. When used with FreeSet® Manager software, users can configure tools from a central interface, monitor applications in real time, review historical data to identify trends, and schedule preventive maintenance based on actual tool usage.
Cordless Performance and Operational Savings
FreeSet® delivers power and speed comparable to pneumatic tools while eliminating dependence on air lines and compressors. This provides greater mobility on the production line, reduces leaks and maintenance associated with compressed air systems, and may eliminate the need for new air infrastructure in future facilities or manufacturing cells. As a cordless system, it also supports CO₂ reduction and contributes to safer, less cluttered workspaces.
